Guide - Red Mandarin Extra EO

The Story :

The Red Mandarin is a small tree of the rutaceous family and native to Southeast Asia (most likely China). It is generally between 3 and 5 metres high and like other citrus trees likes sunny terrain. It is very sensitive to frost and its leaves are green and fragrant. It has small white flowers and fruits resembling small oranges, tangerines.

Mandarin tree seems to have been introduced in Europe around the 19th century, where it gave birth to the clementine tree by crossing with the bitter orange tree.

Finesence Red Mandarin Essential Oil has powerful soothing and relaxing properties, and a particular sweet citrus scent.

The Plant :

The mandarin tree is a small tree with evergreen and green leaves. We have selected extracts of Extra Red Mandarin Extra from Brazil, the home of this plant that produces a superior quality oil. It has a floral scent, with a green note reminiscent of lime peel.

Properties :

  • Calming and Relaxing
  • Purifying
  • Diluted in a Vegetable Oil, it can be used as a relaxing massage and locally for the prevention of orange peel skin

Uses :

In infusion: For its calming and relaxing properties.

To do this, mix 3 to 4 drops in a litre of warm, non-boiling water. Indeed, if water is too hot it tends to evaporate the essential oil too quickly and could also degrade the essential oil and its components, making it less effective. It is important to dilute the essential oil in honey or on a sugar cube which you will then add in warm water, in order to unify the mixture. Once your preparation is done, you can enjoy your tea for a moment of relaxation, at any time of the day.

Atmospheric diffusion: To clean and purify the atmosphere of your home, but also to create a relaxing and fruity atmosphere.

Depending on the diffusers and the size of the room, pour between 5 and 30 drops, and allow 30 minutes for a large room and about 15 minutes for a bedroom. In all cases, comply with the instructions for the device used.

In cosmetics: In particular, it soothes problem skin and dermatoses, and calms the body and mind.

Red Mandarin essential oil is used very diluted in a rich vegetable oil to provide a soothing and relaxing massage. Pour 4 drops of essential oil for 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil of your choice and massage gently into the area concerned. The massage is performed preferably on the solar plexus, stomach, lower abdomen or lumbar vertebrae depending on the problems.

Tips :

When having an attack of hypertension (which is a sign of more general tension and stress), mix a drop of Mandarin essential oil + a drop of Ylang Ylang that you apply only inside your two wrists (or in the hollow of your elbows). Breathe deeply several times and the calm will return very quickly.

Caution: Mandarin essential oil is slightly photo-sensitizing also after external use, do not expose yourself to the sun.
